  • Overview

    The Part Time Mailroom Clerk is responsible for supporting corporate office personnel with mail room functions as well as facility support.  The position is responsible for mail drop off and pick ups, as well as interoffice mail across all Smithfield area buildings.

     

    This position is a part time, non-benefited role.  On average the Mailroom Clerk will be needed 20-25 hours per week, 5 days per week.

     

    Due to use of a company vehicle, you must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the daily inter office routing and delivery of all mail items, including delivery to and from the post office
    • Facilitate the standard and expedited delivery of all outgoing and incoming mail items to the proper destination(s) through the use of a recording and processing system
    • Administer all applicable postage payments per policies and procedures
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years of related experience in an administrative support role.
    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
    • Must be highly motivated, with a high level of integrity, and possess excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be a committed team player with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Intermediate computer skills utilizing MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to safely lift 25-30 lbs (mail bins) without assistance
    • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally during the shift
