  • Overview

    The Accounting Supervisor – T&W, will support the Transportation and Warehouse Finance functions with the reconciliation and month-end close activities. This position is responsible for the training and supervision of associate accountants.


    • Receives and validates all movements of inventory to and from all corporately reconciled 3rd party warehouses daily.
    • Assist with month-end close activities for the transportation and warehouse division. This includes creating journals entries and account reconciliations.
    • Analyze and explain monthly variances between SAP inventory (Book of record) and outside warehouses. Weekly summarize variances for reporting to management
    • Assist in developing management reports through functional knowledge of the following systems: SAP BI & SAP General Ledger.
    • Work closely with the customer service, supply planning, and freight planning departments as well as the transportation & warehousing group.
    • Prepare ad-hoc reports and potential assignment to special studies/teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities for the company.
    • Compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements.
    • Special projects as required.

    • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or related field and 2+ years’ of professional accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, guidance or mentoring to less experienced staff or managing processes and projects, preferred.
    • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
    • SAP experience, preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Proactive and solution-oriented.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong self-motivation and organization skills.
    • Displays professionalism and integrity.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the accounting department.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.
