    As part of the customer accounting team, this position oversees the duties related to accounts receivable reporting, deduction maintenance, audit requirements, testing and training accounts receivable processes or programs in SAP. This Senior managerial role also involves a variety of duties pertaining to the development, implementation, and coordination of procedures related to handling trade promotion claims and resolving OS&D customer deductions. This includes implementing and maintaining best practices and efficient processes for managing deductions for both sales and marketing promotions as well as product/price related deductions.

    Responsibilities

    Manage Deductions

    • Manage deduction personnel to ensure business processes are followed and productivity is acceptable.
    • Maintain a steady deduction state with aging deductions kept within goals.
    • Assist in resolving issues with sales, brokers, or customers. 
    • Define process efficiencies and help educate our business partners to the new process. 
    • Report to sales and management deduction balances and issues in a timely fashion.
    • Meet with sales to ensure training of sales force to adequately perform expected duties.
    • Troubleshoot with sales, pricing and customers.
    • Develop SOP for best practice.
    • Develop process improvements to drive department efficiencies.

    Analyze Improvements and Efficiencies

    • Develop strategies to reduce the deduction completion cycle time.
    • Identify and analyze additional key areas for improvement. 
    • Initiate best practices and process efficiencies, improve service delivery, and enhance analytics. 

    Staff Development

    • Promote staff development through on-going training, mentoring, and continued professional education.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to retail deductions staff.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
    • SAP experience required.
    • Strong Excel required.
    • Thorough knowledge of financial and business principles.
    • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
    • Proactive and solution-oriented.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong self-motivation and organization skills.
    • Displays professionalism and integrity.
    • Ability to work team member as well as independently
    • May travel up to 15-20%.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Responsible for supervision of the Deductions team.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
