The People Analytics Manager plays an integral part in providing data to our company’s leaders and transforming it into stories and insights that drive recommendations and decision making.  This role will interact across multiple departments to provide insightful analytics to the organization.  This position requires a high-performing, self-driven individual that has a passion for using data and analytics to drive insights, tell compelling stories, and deliver transformative results.  This role will also support HRIS applications, initiatives, and projects.  This individual will partner closely with Compensation, HR Business Partners, and the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement strategies regarding Smithfield's employee population.

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Perform complex analyses pertaining to employees across various functions with Smithfield to drive optimization of talent investments with insights on workforce trends and opportunities.    
  • Develop the expertise to report from all HR platforms and consolidate data into meaningful reports and presentations. 
  • Provide comprehensive analytical and fact-based reporting to support and/or identify opportunities to impact operational results, make changes to processes, and support strategic initiatives. 
  • Function as an analytics and reporting expert for the HR function by developing standard reports and designing, running and maintaining ad hoc queries. 
  • Participate in the development of reports, metrics, models, scorecards, and dashboards by gathering internal and external market data and transforming it into stories/insights that drive recommendations and decision-making. 
  • Develop a full and detailed understanding of all HR data available across the company, which includes all systems involved in data maintenance.
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve processes, increase data integrity, and provide quality customer service to our business partners. 
  • Work with internal/external partners to design, implement, and maintain system interfaces.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or Information Management from a regionally accredited college or University or other related field and minimum 5+ years’ relevant analytics experience, required.
  • SAP HCM experience, preferred.
  • Advanced analytical/diagnostic skills with aptitude and passion for process improvement.
  • Functional understanding of HRIS design, structure and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Customer-focused and able to motivate and influence key decision makers
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job may provide leadership and guidance to employees within the HR function.
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
