The Associate Payroll Accountant specializes in Payroll general ledger activities for company codes, focused on accounting activities for in-house payroll, while supporting and working closely with plant controllers and corporate team members.

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  1. Balances and validates posting of payroll to general ledger for multiple employers and ledgers.
  2. Allocates various payroll and tax expenses through journal entries.
  3. Monitors and prepares payroll accruals and account validations ensuring an accurate reflection of outstanding liabilities.
  4. Prepares multiple bank account validations.
  5. Prepares and codes invoices.
  6. Meets month-end close deadlines.
  7. Determines and monitors intercompany general ledger posting requirements.
  8. Ensures all balance sheet accruals are an accurate reflection of outstanding liabilities through preparation of monthly and periodic account validations.
  9. Ensures strict confidentiality of payroll data.
  10. Maintains compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, required.
  • 2+ years of Payroll accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, as well as solid organization and time management skills.
