Responsible for supplying maintenance personnel with the correct tools, parts, components and information necessary to maintain and repair all physical plant equipment. This position helps to maintain the stockroom and facilitates inventory transactions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  1. Responsible for efficient and accurate physical MRO inventory transactions, including but not limited to: stocking items received, parts disbursement, returns, repairs, inventory audits and adjustments.
  2. Serves customers in the parts room, records disbursements, answers phone and dispatches maintenance personnel.
  3. Ensures data entry of maintenance documentation into the appropriate maintenance system(s), including but not limited to: issued materials, material receipts and inventory audits.

  4. Maintains organization and physical appearance of maintenance stockroom.

  5. Researches order problems such as backorders and slow shipments with outside vendors. Monitors vendor managed inventory. Helps schedule and expedite delivery of ordered items in conjunction with purchasing and maintenance department requirements.

  6. Generates daily, weekly, monthly and other ad-hoc reports.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5+ years’ experience in purchasing/parts room inventory/vendor relations; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Mechanical knowledge, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Internet and Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
