The Associate Quality Systems Specialist supports and develops SQL, Visual Basic, ASP.Net, Excel, and Access. Provides technical support to programs relating to the current role utilizing the company programs. Provides specialized training on all custom computer applications and systems.

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Provides technical assistance/training to all the plants on data/report management, program use, and QA business systems.
  • Maintains various QA data and database functions in SQL to ensure uninterrupted data collection and reporting across all plants and departments. These include:
    • Technical Services Web site, intranet web site (HTML).
    • QA-Reporting, Web Based SQL and ASPX.
    • Various purchased and in-house developed computer programs to support the quality function
  • Interacts with IT, Master Data, Inventory (SAP), Product Development to ensure all source product information is coordinated into the QA Systems and is maintained in an accurate and current status.
  • Produces, develops, enhances and supports a web based reporting system which provides support to a broad range of business functions weekly. The web system combines information from various SQL data sources to produce reports, ASPX and .net output that support timely and effective decision making. These features include quality scorecards, frequency reporting, complaint reports and inventory observations necessary to ensure the quality function is being executed as intended.

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 2+ years related experience in SQL reporting or web application development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in developing web reports and applications with HTML/HTML 5, ASP/ASP.NET, Visual Basic/VB.Net and MS SQL Server 2008/2012.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of web application development principles and architecture.
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience with enterprise relational database management systems, SQL and complete database query development.
  • Experience developing reports merging data and operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of SPC and statistics, preferred.
  • Background in food or food production environment, a plus.
  • Must be able to understand the business process and uses of data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving and analytical skills, required.
  • Ability to communicate training to various levels of users in terms they understand. Breaks down complex instructions in multiple ways to enhance understanding; patience a must.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset.
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently and proactively in achieving team and individual objectives.
  • Must have a commitment to delivering high-quality software and data.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% at certain times depending on demand.
