Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining.  Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.  At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Servers are expected to have some basic cooking knowledge.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Prepares tables, lays out napkins and utensils,  ensures the condiments are refilled, performs all other preparation tasks.
  • Maintains proper dining experience, delivers items, fulfills customer needs, offers desserts and drinks, removes courses, replenishes utensils, refills glasses. 
  • Prepares mixed drinks to customers' tables.  Properly opens and pours wine at the tableside.
  • Stays updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, keeps informed if the kitchen staff is running out of any items.  
  • Handles table bookings, directs customers to their tables, presents menus, suggesting dishes, assists in drink selection, informs customers about food preparation details, communicates specific customer needs to the cooks.
  • Issues receipts, accepts payments and returns change. 
  • Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management. 
  • Greets all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
  • Assists with special events as needed.    
  • Consistently maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 1+ years previous serving experience, required.
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Card.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, required. Must speak fluent English and be able to write in basic English.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Team player with a willingness to help other employees when needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening shifts, and fill-in for absent staff as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
