    The Associate Scheduling Process Manager manages the implementation of scheduling processes and ensures proper execution by leading efforts to drive efficiencies and improvements within the supply chain function. Focuses on Continuous Improvement initiatives for the scheduling process and implements improvement opportunities to productivity and efficiency.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Implements and manages coordination of Smithfield Foods’ plant scheduling processes across Smithfield Plants to ensure optimal inventory levels are met including: planner upload, spread timing of schedule, changes to the schedule within two-week window and changes to the schedule within one-week metrics lock.
    • Manage the master schedule by adding/delimiting new products in the system, make process flow changes to the master schedule; and execute the master schedule for individual plants.
    • Partners with supply planning and operations in aligning current processes to one consistent approach across Smithfield Foods. Outlines any process inefficiencies and recommends process improvements.
    • Provides training of system tools and processes as needed to plant Schedulers.
    • Develops and maintains all relevant SOP documentation.
    • Manages Continuous Improvement initiatives against defined targets, tracking ownership and root cause solutions to include planner uploads, timing of schedule lock, spreading of schedules and attainment of established adherence and attainment targets.
    • Creates effective strategies in response to factors such as forecast accuracy, lead times, and production schedule adherence.
    • Generates and creates reports to support Supply Planning with reporting, analysis, and trend data.
    • Assists in defining processes to maintain raw, WIP, planning.

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field and 3+ years’ experience in scheduling and planning, required.
    • Experience in scheduling or planning for perishable items in either the meat industry or in a food manufacturing environment, preferred.
    • Ability to utilize various systems effectively. Strong understanding and utilization of SAP Hana, 4.7 6.7 – Material/Production Scheduler System.
    • Intermediate level Excel skills are required.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access Data Base.
    • Logility and SAP 6.0 experience would be plus.
    • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred but not required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to understand changing business processes.
    • Self-motivated with demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work with various levels of Management.
    • Manages multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
    • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
