    The IT Business Analyst - Time Keeping is responsible for developing strong working relationships with users of Workforce Software (time keeping system). The role will function as the end users’ primary contact for technical and business process/regulatory issues and coordinate enterprise time solutions.


    The primary focus of the IT Business Analyst - Time Keeping is to bridge the gap between business users and technical resources. This role is responsible for understanding business requirements and translating requirements to functional specifications, testing, and implementation. By leveraging experience, leadership and project management skills as well as an understanding for cross-functional relationships, the IT Business Analyst - Time Keeping will help deliver process and technology solutions supporting an enterprise architecture.


    Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

    • Assist in the development and identification of business needs supporting the timekeeping functions across the Smithfield Enterprise.
    • Develop detailed business requirement specifications for all business units/facilities to define appropriate configuration in WorkForce Solutions software.
    • Implement and manage standard testing procedures for application release updates, which includes creating, reviewing, executing and tracking test plan results. Validate testing procedures to ensure they meet both business and technical requirements.
    • Review and present software upgrades to business partners. Once new or enhanced functionality has been released, review release notes, communicate release changes to business partners, analyze and test new features and help guide business partners on utilizing new functionality.
    • Participate in project management activities – coordinating efforts between internal business partners and IT including clear communications of status updates and timing of deliverables.
    • Provide assistance to peers, developers and IT support team by reviewing issues reported from end users, determining and reconciling discrepancies, solving for root cause errors and helping to establish procedures to correct.
    • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed.

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year, accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant business analysis and/or project management work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
    • 3+ years of functional experience with a time keeping system is required, WorkForce Solutions is preferred (other time keeping systems also considered as relevant experience).
    • Experience supporting Timekeeping, Accrual and Attendance systems required – Kronos, Workforce Software, Workbrain, etc.
    • Experience supporting timekeeping devices/terminals, required.
    • SQL/PL SQL experience, preferred.
    • Java Script and/or Python experience, a plus.
    • Broad-based familiarity with Human Resources and Payroll functions with a background including a combination of business and information technology built from both education and professional experiences.
    • Experience with reporting tools (i.e. Crystal reports, Visual Studio), a plus.
    • Strong MS Excel skills including advanced functions such as vlookup, pivot tables, if statements, etc.
    • Detailed oriented and well-organized, with an exceptional ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to be innovative, collaborative, inquisitive and one that will take initiative.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills – able to speak and write in a clear and articulate manner.
    • Vast experience in processing documentation effectively, inclusive of test cases.
    • Experienced in quality assurance software and technology testing.
    • Experience with HP ALM, a plus.
    • Motivated to succeed with capacity to assume increasing responsibility.
    • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
